Q: What ultimately led you to accept an intern position at The House of Joshua?

A: I wanted to get more experience, not only in the marketing field but the interiors and design field. The House of Joshua was a remote internship which worked with my school schedule and also enabled me to speak to employers in another region of the country, helping me gain a new perspective. The internship was also an excellent resume booster for my marketing and newfound design career.

Q: How would you describe the culture of our company?

A: The culture of the company is very creative and fast paced. It is a place where fellow creatives bounce ideas off of each other and try to improve one another’s work. At the time of my internship I worked mostly alone but was fortunate enough to work closely with Michelle Lee and speak with her almost everyday. When I asked for more creative projects I was happily given them and Michelle always helped and taught me graphics tools to use when I got stuck.

Q: What was the best part about your internship at our company and did you feel valued?

A: The best part about my internship was being able to work so closely with Michelle. I truly admire her especially in the way that she is an artist first and businesswoman second. She genuinely cares about her product, her customers, and her interns. I like her management style and felt very comfortable working under her. She was always understanding when I needed to do something for school and always helpful when I got stuck on a project. I have always taken a liking to strong women and can honestly say she is one of my role models. I felt more than valued at the company when my projects, designs, and ideas would be used to help the company grow. It is very rewarding to see your creations publicized on the website and used in brochures. I feel so grateful to have gotten this internship but especially to have developed a relationship with Michelle.
